SelectioNaturel imports wine from a tight range of Italy's most exciting producers, a dream made real for Matt Mollo.
Once as a guide leading cycling tours through France and Italy, Matt developed a deep knowledge of local winemaking traditions particularly in southern Burgundy and Umbria. He befriended many vinaioli themselves, ate and drank in the local restaurants, and happily absorbed a lifestyle connected to the land.
Matt went on to become a leader of Boston's natural wine movement while at the Wine Bottega, often travelling back to Italy and finding producers from Sicily, Umbria, and Abruzzo who gave him flashbacks to the kinds of people he would visit as a tour guide – honest winemakers carefree of commercial trends and institutional acceptance. Now Matt is focused solely on import, representing estates that favor humble, old school methods to create sensational examples of territorial expression without chemicals.
